FAQ
You're probably already asking these
We hear these a lot. If yours isn't answered here, just ask.
Do I need to be technical? +
No. You describe the problem in plain language – the way you’d explain it to a friend. We handle everything technical. You don’t need to know what an API is, what automation means, or how any of it works under the bonnet. If we need something from you, we’ll ask in plain English.
How long does it take? +
It depends on the complexity, and we won’t pretend otherwise. Simple fixes take days. More complex builds take longer. We’ll agree a timeline with you before any work starts, and if anything changes, you’ll know before we do. What we can promise: no discovery phases that drag on for months. No meetings about meetings.
What if it doesn't do what we agreed? +
You don’t pay. We agree upfront exactly what the solution must do – the inputs, the outputs, the behaviour. If it doesn’t do what we agreed, we keep working until it does at no extra cost. If we genuinely can’t deliver what we promised, you pay nothing. The risk is ours, not yours.
What does it cost? +
It depends on the problem. Once we understand what needs fixing, we’ll quote a fixed price before any work starts. No hourly rates, no open-ended invoices – you’ll know the exact number upfront and can decide if it makes sense. You only pay if the solution does what we agreed.
Do I need to sign a contract? +
No. There’s no contract, no retainer, and no minimum commitment. We work on a fix-by-fix basis. If you want us to maintain or improve the solution over time, you can choose that – but it’s never mandatory. Think of it like having your car serviced: not required, but wise.
What kind of businesses do you work with? +
Any business that wants to work smarter. Most of our conversations are with founders and owner-operators running teams of roughly 5 to 30 people, but we’re not rigid about size. If you’re spending your time on work that a system could handle, we can probably help – regardless of sector or location.
Is this AI? What does that mean for me? +
Sometimes, but not always – and it doesn’t matter. We use whatever solves the problem best. Most of what we build is straightforward automation: if X happens, do Y. Deterministic, reliable, predictable. We only use AI where it genuinely adds something that automation alone can’t handle – like interpreting unstructured text or making judgment calls. You don’t need to understand the difference. You just need the problem solved.
How is this different from hiring a VA or a consultant? +
A VA does the work manually. When they’re busy, ill, or leave, the work stops. A consultant gives you a report and a recommendation. You still have to implement it. We build systems that run without you or anyone else needing to be involved. The invoice gets chased automatically. The report updates itself. The onboarding sequence fires without someone remembering to send it. The work gets done whether anyone is at their desk or not.
